Our School Location
Our French partner school in Bordeaux was founded in 1993. The school is located in a 19th century typical Bordeaux-style building close to the city centre and many wonderful attractions, cafes and restaurants.
The language school is beautiful from the outside and the interior is tastefully decorated and contemporary in design. In this environment the students are made to feel welcome by the pleasant atmosphere and the warmth of the staff.
Our language school has nine well-equipped classrooms each with TV, video recorder and DVD players. The air-conditioning provides a comfortable learning climate during the summer. The school has free Wi-Fi throughout and a cosy, Bordeaux red lounge area for the breaks. The school also has a nice small garden where you can relax and take a breath of fresh air.
The minimum age for participation on a French course in Bordeaux is 16.
Our language school in Bordeaux offers services of the highest quality and has accreditation from several international organisations.
The Label Qualité FLE is awarded to language schools within the French territories on behalf of three French ministries: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Communication. In order to receive this accreditation the school must comply with strict quality requirements in respect of customer care, facilities, teachers and teaching.
Many German states recognise the French language courses at our partner school in Bordeaux as `educational leave`, which offers funding for students on the courses. Sweden offers a similar program for Swedes who can be funded by the CSN; their centre offering financial support for students.

Our language school in Bordeaux offers a variety of French language courses to meet as many different needs and objectives as possible. They are available at all levels from beginners to advanced.
One lesson at our school in Bordeaux is 45 minutes and the courses consist of between 15 and 40 lessons per week. The maximum group class size is 12 participants learning together, but on average there are 8 or 9 participants. The courses are structured around a written and oral placement test so that the students can be placed in the correct group with participants of a similar level. The written test is carried out prior to arrival on the language course and the oral assessment takes place on the first day.
The school places great emphasis on interactive teaching to improve the students´ communication skills. The small groups are ideal for the teacher to be able to respond to individual needs and to guarantee that each student has the chance to participate in group discussions. The students can enjoy learning and are motivated to learn the language because the lessons are designed to be fun.
The minimum age for participating on a language course in Bordeaux is 16. The course price includes all course materials and a certificate on completion of the course.

Our partner language school in Bordeaux knows that not all people prefer the same type of housing and therefore offers accommodation in a host family as well as the possibility of staying in a private apartment or hotel. You can get to know daily French life with a host family or enjoy maximum flexibility and privacy in a private apartment or hotel.
We can find the right accommodation for you if you come alone, with friends, a partner or the whole family. We are very happy to offer you advice on choosing the right form of accommodation.
Private apartments are the perfect choice for those who want to be as independent and flexible as possible during their stay. There are numerous furnished apartments of different sizes available in Bordeaux. It is possible to find an apartment for individuals, couples or families with children.
Host family accommodation is an ideal option if you want to experience French family life. Our host families are carefully selected by the school and may be the classic family with children, single people or couples without children. Several students may be staying with a family at the same time and the school makes sure that there is a good mix of nationalities.
The host families are normally located about 15 to 30 minutes away from the school on foot. There is comfortable single room accommodation with bed linen and towels provided. You have breakfast and an evening meal during the week with the host families and dinner is also provided at the weekends.
Arrival at the host families is on Sunday and departure is on Saturday. The price includes pick-up from the railway station or airport on arrival in Bordeaux.
From studios to apartments, our summer residence allows students to have a high degree of autonomy while benefiting from specific services that make daily routine easier (laundry self-service, safe parking, etc.). The residence is 15 minutes by tram away from the school and it is located near the city center.
All studios and apartments are furnished and equipped with a kitchenette (ceramic hob, extractor, microwave and fridge), dining area, bathroom, toilet, wardrobe, telephone and internet. Water, internet and electricity charges as well the general maintenance of the residence are included. Towels and bed linen are provided. Please note the residence does not offer weekly cleaning.
Bordeaux and its surrounding area offers a huge variety of interesting leisure activities. The school is in the immediate vicinity of the centre of Bordeaux where you can walk and admire the distinctive architecture and discover some of the sights. The school staff are happy to give recommendations and pass on information regarding the activities and events.
There are several international events in Bordeaux throughout the seasons. Horse lovers can enjoy the skills of the horses and their riders in February at the show jumping World Cup. If you prefer golf, there is the International Golf Open every June. June is also the time of the wine festival in Bordeaux where you can appreciate the good food and wine of the region and socialize with others.
Bordeaux has a lot to offer shoppers as it has the longest pedestrian area in Europe and there are plenty of shops in Bordeaux´s typical Bordeaux-style Rue Sainte Catherine.
