"When I arrived here I couldn't speak English at all and could barely understand what I was told. Since I have been here, I feel almost English. I feel that there are lots of learning opportunities for learning English in South Africa [...]. The variety of international students I found at the school was much more than I expected, because I thought that because Cape Town was much cheaper than other destinations, there would be lots of Asians. I was surprised! I discovered that many people think that Cape Town is very dangerous, but I think that it is an exaggeration. It's like any other country.
I don’t think Cape Town is expensive but at markets and tourist attractions, people try to get more money out of you, but that is pretty much everywhere, it’s just very evident here. All in all, this is the best language school in Cape Town on all fronts. I have been to two other schools in Cape Town, you can’t compare it and some of my friends there are jealous!"
"I have been studying in Cape Town for 2 months now. I would recommend studying here at the teachers are brilliant and the atmosphere is great. I like living here as it is close to the sea and it’s cheap to live. I really like the school as it has great facilities. I really liked the course because there was a mix of vocabulary and grammar and the teachers were great as well.
In the evenings I go to the gym. My favourite school activity was going on safari. During my time here I stayed with a host family and it was really good as I got to see their way of life and take part in lots of conversations. My recommendations to future students would be to only speak English. Many students go to England, United States and Australia to learn English. In these countries it is always the same thing; big cities, big clubs, big shopping malls and nothing else to do. Actually, if you ask a student where he went to learn English I’m sure that the student will answer one of these countries. Nobody realizes how amazing South Africa is!
Cape Town is a mix between big cities and wildlife. There are a lot of activities to do like sky diving, the world’s highest bungee jump, many different safaris, riding elephants or an ostrich, surf, sand surf…The views from the sea is amazing. About the school, you learn English in a good atmosphere. All the teachers are very good. I’m actually living with a host family. For me this is the better way to learn English correctly and watch the way of life of the South African people."
"My three months in Cape Town! I decided to take time off to improve my knowledge in English. I had no doubt in my mind where to go when I found South Africa as a destination - especially Cape Town! Cape Town is totally the best destination, my experience in this city is almost indescribable.
Really beautiful weather, people, culture, birds, everything is different for me! The school is incredible, teachers are open-minded, friendly and really professional. My accommodation is completely perfect! I like my roommates. Cape Town is special for me, it is a unique experience. I'm still wondering why I did not come earlier. I'll repeat it again and again!"
"I stayed in Cape Town last June and saw 6 World Cup matches. I like saying that the South African people are very funny and happy. I spent good moments there. The English school is fantastic. The teachers are very competent. If I´ll study abroad probably I´ll go to that school again."
"I have been here for 8 months and the experience has been amazing, the city is very nice with plenty of places to visit. My experience at the school has been great too, you can meet a lot of people from different countries and different cultures."
"Before I came to study English in Cape Town I only got bad information about South Africa, mainly about safety. But as I like to discover new places I decided to go and during my stay I had a really nice time. The city can offer a mix of different culture, beautiful beaches and mainly friendly people. So learn English with this atmosphere makes difference and the school has a good structure to support their students."
"I think the school had good teachers. I liked having the opportunity to speak English and I liked the weather in Cape Town. It was good to meet people from foreign countries."
"I found my one-to-one classes at the school very useful and practical. I can focus on my difficulties with my English and practice them to overcome difficulties with pronunciation, writing, reading and vocabulary. My teacher always knows what I need to improve and is able to give me perfect advice. The classes are packed with activities and it is very challenging. One thing I really like about this course is that my teacher always explains the reason why I am doing the exercise before we start. So I know what I have to achieve through the exercise. Consequently, I’m able to see my progress which makes me satisfied."
"The language school is well situated in central Cape Town and it's a nice place where I can learn and improve my English. The teachers are very kind and help me in my learning with friendliness and professionalism. Moreover, there is no reason to be bored, each week several activities and trips around CT are suggested. It's an excellent way to practise English with the other students who come from all over the world. Before I came here I had no idea about the school, but I'm very satisfied with the lessons and the friendly atmosphere of the school."
"I have been in Cape Town for 2 months. I would recommend the language school in Cape Town as it is a great experience to do. I love everything about Cape Town as it is a very interesting city. I really like the school because it is like a big family with a mixture of a lot of nationalities. People are very friendly.
What I like best about my course was the dynamic teaching because it makes it really exciting. My favourite hangout in the evening is Long Street. There were so many interesting activities that I would not be able to chose my favourite one! I stayed in self-catered accommodation in Cape Town. The view was amazing and looked right over the city. I would definitely come back here to study English again. 2 months was too short."

In order to achieve the most fulfilling and rewarding learning experience, the language courses and programmes in South Africa have been firmly established on the four pillars of language learning: speaking, reading, understanding, and writing. In order to foster a scenario that is as fully authentic as possible for learning English we often use materials such as newspapers, videos, the Internet and CDs throughout our courses. In addition, students are strongly encouraged to actively participate in class and to communicate with other students. Grammar and vocabulary are explained and practised in context, which facilitates learning and offers concrete examples of usage. The teacher will come up with daily scenarios in the classroom, which will not only help students learn the material successfully but also stimulate group communication.
On the first day, an initial evaluation exam will take place whereby the appropriate language courses will be assigned to each student according to their respective language proficiency. After the evaluation has been completed, you’ll be assigned to the course that you booked at the appropriate proficiency level. The most popular accommodation option is staying with a host family, in which you’ll get to know the South African way of life, culture and people very well. Lastly, if you would prefer to stay in a hotel, we have a search engine tool on our website that will allow you to search for hotels and rates via booking.com.
Please note that in order to stay with a host family, the student must be at least 16 to 17 years old. Generally, for most types of accommodation, arrivals will take place on Sundays while departures will take place on Saturdays. Airport transfers upon arrival are included with any accommodation booked through the language school.

Our shared apartments are situated in the beautiful, central but quiet district of Bo Kaap only a 5 or 10-minute walk from the fashionable Long Street and its bars, restaurants and colourful nightlife. You have magnificent views of the famous Table Mountain and Lion`s Head from the apartments.
The self-catering apartments consist of 6 or 7 bedrooms, which can be booked as single or double rooms. Bed linen and towels are provided in the apartments in Cape Town, but please bring your own beach towel. Wi-Fi is also available in the buildings for a small fee. The most popular accommodation option in South Africa is living with a host family. This will give you the opportunity to practise and improve your English outside the classroom and to experience life in Cape Town. The family will make you feel comfortable and you can use your English in a friendly environment and learn more about life in South Africa.
The host family could consist of a typical family with children, a couple or a single person. Please note that the double rooms can only be booked by two people travelling together. In general, arrivals are on the Sundays and departures on Saturdays. Students of 16 or 17 years old are obliged to stay in a host family.
Our language school in Cape Town offers two different categories of host families in order to meet the different needs and requirements of the students: Standard and Superior.
You will be made to feel very welcome in the standard homestay and most of the families live within walking distance of the school. If the family is further away, then they are situated near a bus stop so that you can reach the school easily.
In a superior host family, you will enjoy more privacy in the family and will have a single room with a private bathroom. Most of these host families are located in the immediate vicinity of the school in Cape Town, so that it is within walking distance. You will need to book as early as possible because this accommodation option is very popular and we only have a limited number of them available.
