Student Reviews

Language Courses

Our junior students, aged between 10 and 17, have the opportunity to improve their English language skills while taking a holiday to the USA's magnificent West Coast. The programme is especially tailored to the interests and needs of this particular age group.

The children have 20 lessons per week, which last 50 minutes each. Classes are usually held in the mornings. In the afternoons and evenings there is a varied programme with excursions, sports and games and other fun activities. We want all of our students to enjoy learning so we’ve ensured that all our courses are diverse and exciting.

Our language school places great emphasis on encouraging children and young people to speak and to use vocabulary and grammar rules in context. Their self-confidence in using English will be enhanced, leading to the improvement of their conversational ability. Each junior student receives a course book and additional materials such as worksheets, CDs and DVDs. After taking the placement test, students are placed into classes with others who have similar English skills, from beginner to advanced. This means that no one is under or over challenged. At the end of the course, everyone receives a participation certificate.

We make sure that juniors students from various countries are put together in the classes. The kids have to talk to each other in English, as it's not easy for them to communicate in their native language. It's also a great way for children to get to know their class mates from many different countries.

After this brief acclimatisation phase, more activities outside the school boundaries are added. Each week, one half-day and one full-day excursion are scheduled. These enable students to enjoy themselves in a theme park, discover exciting places by sightseeing, stroll through national forests or take in the beaches of the Pacific Ocean. Numerous sports facilities are available to the young participants right on the language school campus, including a gym, a swimming pool, an exercise room and courts for several ball games. Furthermore, the language school provides karaoke evenings, dancing events and game parties. Boredom is unheard of in San Francisco!
