Auckland is a multicultural city located in the North Island and approximately one-third of the population of New Zealand lives there. The city is surrounded by unique scenery with sheltered bays and 50 inactive volcanoes. Other features typical of this the unofficial capital of New Zealand include the spacious parks and stretches of greenery with a harbour full of sailing boats and several beaches for you to enjoy. Auckland has a high standard of living with an attractive cityscape and a rich variety of things for you to do in your free time.

The city attracts nature lovers, adventurers as well as shoppers and art lovers. You can visit the offshore volcanic islands by boat or explore one of the national parks on foot. There are numerous museums and a wealth of cultural attractions allowing you to get to know the country and its people as well as to practise your English.

Our School Location

The English language school is conveniently located in the city centre of Auckland. In the vicinity there are numerous bus stops and train stations, shops, restaurants, parks and theatres. The waterside and the port for the ferries are also not far away.

Our English language school in Auckland offers a large range of courses with a friendly and intimate atmosphere among the students and teachers.

It provides the ideal environment for you to enjoy learning English. The students come from over 30 different countries and so the classes consist of intercultural groups where you can speak together in English and exchange ideas about your different backgrounds and cultures.

The English language school in Auckland is in a modern building with 22 classrooms. There is a large lounge where students can meet and talk and make new contacts outside the lessons, and there is a kitchen available to use and perhaps organise a cooking project together! If you would like to improve your English language skills through literature, there is the opportunity to do so in the school library. There is also a computer room with Wi-Fi Internet access allowing you to study using multimedia methods. The school also provides free tea and coffee throughout the day.

Language Courses

The language school in Auckland offers its students a wide range of language courses. We offer courses that will be appropriate for your language level and personal goals. There are the general standard English courses, exam preparation courses and courses that would suit you if you need English for your education, profession or just for holidays.

All the courses deal with the basic language skills of: reading, writing, speaking and listening are. In addition, you will learn focus on grammar and expand your English vocabulary.

Participants can choose between general English courses with a choice of the number of hours per week, exam preparation courses or Business English courses as well as between English lessons in groups or with a private teacher. Group and private lessons can also be combined to allow you to achieve your English language goals during your stay in Auckland.

You can learn English in small groups with a maximum of 15 participants or in private 1:1 lessons with highly qualified teachers either in the mornings, afternoons or for a full day. You can choose how intensive you want your program to be and select the course that is most suitable for you.

The school offers English courses for every level and because we divide the groups into eight different levels it allows us to form clearly differentiated groups. You are guaranteed to be with students at your level on your English course. In this way the lessons are tailored to your language level in order for you to learn as effectively as possible.

Accommodation

There are various accommodation options available offering you a pleasant stay during your language course in Auckland and every participant will be able to find the accommodation they want.

You can experience typical New Zealand everyday life with a host family or live more independently with other students. You might prefer a private apartment or a hotel room and the language school in Auckland can help you find the best option to meet your requirements. 

Accommodation in a host family is particularly suitable for students who want a lot of contact with the English language and the locals in Auckland outside the English course and want to fully immerse themselves in the culture of the `Kiwis`. Another option for students who want to be completely independent is accommodation in the student hostel residence, or a higher quality residence. Here you can make new acquaintances with young people from all over the world and explore the island (s) together. There are hotel accommodation options for those who want more luxury. 

All our types of accommodation are carefully selected and we make sure that you feel comfortable and safe during your time in Auckland. The school is easily accessible from all areas of the city.

Host Family

Accommodation in a host family is a very popular option for our students. This is an inexpensive way to stay in Auckland and be surrounded by the English language in everyday life after your lessons. You can practise your English round-the-clock through contact with your host family.

This is also a good way to find your way in a new city and get to know the New Zealand culture. The family will be able to give you suggestions about what to do in Auckland, how best to get around, tell you what the best restaurants are and much more. You will be well looked afterin the host family from the moment you arrive and you will be able to live in the midst of daily New Zealand life. This is an ideal way of getting to know the culture and aspects of the English language. Our host families are carefully selected and checked on a regular basis. We take into account the individual needs of our students and will provide the most suitable host family for every student. Most of our families have experience of offering accommodation to students and you live in a friendly atmosphere where you can enjoy studying and relax and be well cared for. 

Residence

We recommend the 5-star `Backpackers` residence to all those who want accommodation with a bit more luxury. You can choose between a single and double room, and all the rooms have a private bathroom, a refrigerator and a TV.

The residence was rebuilt in 2005 and the furnishings are superb. There is a spacious, fully equipped kitchen and this serves as a popular meeting place for residents from all over the world. You can relax after a busy day in the quiet reading room and the Tour Desk will give you information about the weekend activities and excursions. There are also washing machines and dryers available 24 hours a day.

The language school is only a 15-minute walk away from the residence. 

Shared apartments

We recommend accommodation in the centrally located student hostel residence during your stay at the school

so that you can make new friends and be close to new acquaintances. You have your own room to use after a busy day and the bathroom is shared with three other residents. There is a large communal kitchen where you can cook when you want and provides an ideal place for you to cook and eat together with other students from around the world. The residence also has a fitness centre and a lounge where you can chat, watch TV and relax. There is also Wi-Fi available for a fee which you can use to surf the Internet.

The residence is an ideal place to practise your English every day after the course and is only 15 minutes away from the language school on foot.

Activities

We offer an activities program here at the school so that you have an exciting time in Auckland while you are on your English language course. The activities provide an excellent opportunity to practise your English in everyday life with the other course participants and locals and the chance to make contact with students from all over the world.

You can experience the language and culture of New Zealand in a very special way. Every day the language school offers a variety of cultural, social and sporting activities. For example, you can go to the theatre, sporting events or to restaurants together. Every Wednesday there is a social evening where you can come into contact with the international students and the teachers. There are excursions at the weekends to enchanting forests and sandy beaches or, for the more active, the chance to go skiing or sandboarding. The diverse range of activities allows you to practise your English and experience the impressive nature and culture of New Zealand giving you the chance to make rapid progress in English even outside the classroom.
